TRACK & FIELD
Taco Bell Classic: Beaufort High School sophomore Bre-Anna Heyward-White had an outstanding day against some of the top athletes in the country, as she had a pair of top-five individual finishes and helped the Eagles finish in the top 10 in a pair of relays at the prestigious Taco Bell Classic on Saturday at Spring Valley High School in Columbia.
More than 90 schools -- some from as far away as the Washington, D.C., area -- participated in the meet, annually one of the top events in the Southeast.
Heyward-White took fourth in the 400 meters, fifth in the 200 and was part of the Eagles' 4x100 and 4x400 relays that set season-best times.
Battery Creek's Quamecha Morrison had the top finish of any Beaufort County athlete, placing second in the girls high jump. She had a mark of 5 feet, 4 inches.
Beaufort High's Michael Dickson had the top finish from the area's boys, placing third in the 110 high hurdles.

Hilton Head Christian Academy's Zach Polk also had a top-10 finish, placing seventh in the 200 meters with a time of 22.31 seconds.
Whale Branch's Casser Middleton finished 16th in the boys shot put.
