Hilton Head Island High 2, James Island 1 (8 innings): Mat Clark tossed a complete-game six-hitter, and Murphy Deery drove in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning to help the Hilton Head Island High School baseball team stay undefeated in Region 8-AAA with a 2-1 win over James Island.
Andrew Dill drove in the tying run in the bottom of the seventh for the Seahawks (8-2 overall, 5-0 region), who were battling for the top spot in the region with James Island (2-1 region).
Deery finished with two of Hilton Head High's five hits.

The Seahawks are back in action at Hanahan at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Battery Creek 9, Whale Branch 3: Zach Mahan earned the win while going 2 for 4 with a three-run triple to lead the Dolphins to victory.
Mahan limited Whale Branch to two hits and one unearned run over five innings while striking out six.
DeAnthony Moore was 1 for 3 with a double for Battery Creek (7-4), which made Whale Branch pitchers pay for issuing 10 walks. The Dolphins finished with 15 stolen bases, including three each by Craig Capano and Mark Hetrick.
Battery Creek hosts Burke at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Malik Fields went 2 for 3 and Jay Wright was 1 for 2 for Whale Branch.
Thomas Heyward Academy 16, Bible Baptist 1 (5 innings): Connor Driscoll went 3 for 4 with three runs scored, and also picked up the win on the mound for the Rebels.
Driscoll struck out five in two hitless innings.
Brodie Etheridge went 3 for 4, Evan Duncan was 2 for 2 and Michael Humbert went 2 for 4 for Thomas Heyward (6-2 overall, 1-0 region), which hosts St. Andrew's at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Pinewood Prep 6, Hilton Head Christian 1: Hunter Greenwell was 2 for 2 with a run scored as the Eagles dropped a region contest.
Ryan Barrett took the loss, pitching three innings.
Hilton Head Christian (1-4 overall, 1-3 region) hosts Porter-Gaud at 5 p.m. Friday.
Hilton Head Prep 8, Northwood Academy 1: Randy Young hit a two-run homer in the first inning to send the Dolphins on their way to a region win.
Cem Caglayan went 2 for 4 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Tyler Fox got the win, striking out four and allowing three hits over six innings.
Hilton Head Prep (9-2 overall, 3-1 region) hosts First Baptist at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

Hilton Head Christian 7, Hilton Head Prep 1: Allison Meeder scored three goals to lead the Christian Academy to victory.
Audrey Bensch, Alyssa Lane, Hannah Reynolds and Stevie DeSimone added goals for the Eagles (5-1 overall, 4-0 region). DeSimone also had two assists. Lindsay Gillis, Bensch, Reynolds and Andy Anderson each had one assist. Anderson was strong as a central defender for the Eagles, who play at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Ashley Hall.
Catherine Sheehan scored the only goal for Hilton Head Prep.
Battery Creek 10, Burke 0: Brianna Tolbert had a hat trick, and Luz Diaz added two goals for the Dolphins.
Taniqua Mungin and Maty Dearsman each had a goal and two assists, Tiffany Nova and Caroline Vido each had a goal and an assist, and Savannah Silvagnoli also scored a goal.
Goalkeeper Taylor Jones made two saves for the shutout.
Battery Creek (5-1 overall, 5-1 region) plays Thursday at Academic Magnet.
Hilton Head Island High 2, Hanahan 1: Lexi Lainhart and Emma Fields scored goals for Hilton Head High, which outshot its opponent 19-3.
Sydney Segars and Sam Wammock split time in goal for the Seahawks (9-1 overall, 3-0 Region 8-AAA), combining for three saves.
The Seahawks play at Berkeley on Thursday.
Beaufort High 1, Summerville 0: Paulina Dixon scored with about five minutes to play to lift the Eagles to the win.
Kayley Gilbert recorded the shutout in goal for Beaufort High (6-6-1, 1-1 Region 8-AAAA).
Beaufort High travels to Ashley Ridge on Friday.
Beaufort Academy 7, St. Andrew's 1: Alison Alvarez and Mary Alice Stromeier each scored twice to lead the Eagles.
Miranda Weslake and Amanda Kahn also scored for Beaufort Academy, and Carli Cline made 12 saves in goal.
Beaufort Academy (5-1) travels to Patrick Henry on Thursday.
Beaufort Academy 6, St. Andrew's 1: Six players scored goals as the Eagles improved to 8-4 overall and 3-1 in SCISAA Region 2-AA.
Clay Melville, George Sanford, Drummond Koppernaes, William Gallant, Jack Olsson and Nicky Macuch found the net for Beaufort Academy.
Battery Creek 12, Burke 0: Caleb Campbell scored three goals and had an assist, and John Saullo also had a hat trick to lead the Dolphins to an easy win.
Minh Dang chipped in two goals, and Miguel Mejia and Daniel Pagoda each had a goal and two assists for Battery Creek (5-2 overall, 5-1 Region 6-AA). Juan Negron and Edgar Moreno each added a goal. Tristian Saunders, Erik Barbosa and Kale Slade had one assist apiece for the Dolphins, who play Thursday at Academic Magnet.
Beaufort High 2, Summerville 1 (5-3 PK): Hector Garcia scored in extra time to send the game to a penalty kick shootout, where the Eagles prevailed, 5-3.
After a scoreless tie through regulation, both teams scored in extra time.
Prescott Hendrick, Alex Martinez, Ryan Muniz, David Seguine and Garcia scored in the shootout for Beaufort High (7-5-1 overall, 1-1 Region 8-AAAA)
Goalie Brooks Wilson had a big save during the shootout to help Beaufort High get the advantage.
The Eagles host Ashley Ridge at 7 p.m. Friday.

Hanahan 2, Hilton Head High 1 (4-3 PK): Eneo Torrez scored the lone goal in the Seahawks' disappointing loss.
"There's no guarantee that the better team's going to win in soccer game," Seahawks coach Wayne Quinlan said. "It was just one of those nights."
Hilton Head High (5-4, 1-2 Region 8-AAA) next hosts Berekey on Thursday.
Bluffton 8, Colleton County 0: Steve Dimaria made three saves for his first shutout of the season, and Akeel Crooks and D.J. Chappelear each scored twice to propel the Bobcats.
Bluffton's Pablo Rios had a goal and two assists. Kevin Pano, Ken Mayo and Richard Snyder also scored for the Bobcats.
Bluffton (9-0, 3-0 Region 8-AAAA) plays this weekend at Airport High School.
Hilton Head Prep 3, Hilton Head Christian 0: Robert Clark posted the shutout in goal for the Dolphins, making six saves.
Teron Daley, Garrett Spencer and Will Peterkin each scored for the Dolphins.

Thomas Heyward Academy 11-16, Cuyahoga Valley (Ohio) 1-6: The Rebels won a pair of games over the visitors from Ohio, taking the first one 11-1 in six innings and the second one 16-6 in five innings.
Selice Daley had eight strikeouts and held Cuyahoga Valley to one hit in the opener. Haylee Wade went 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs, Morgan Peeples was 2 for 4, and Hannah Cannon hit her eighth home run of the season for the Rebels (7-2).
Zoe Mitchell got the win in Game 2. Liz Bunton was 2 for 4 with two RBIs, Peeples was 2 for 4, Kelsey Kelnhofer went 1 for 2 with three RBIs and Wade was 1 for 2 with two RBIs.
The Rebels are off until April 11, when they play at Pinewood Prep.
James Island 12, Hilton Head High 4, 9 innings: The Seahawks fell using the international tiebreaker system after being tied 4-4 going into the extra frame.
Macy Moore had three hits and Caitlin Buckalew went 2-for-2 with a triple and two RBIs to continue her hot play for the Seahawks.
Losing pitcher Whitney Halley struck out six.
