Thomas Heyward Academy 74, Beaufort Academy 68 (OT): Collin Roach, Davis Owens and Dylan Tillotson combined for 68 points as the Thomas Heyward Academy boys basketball team slipped past Beaufort Academy, 74-68, in overtime Friday in Walterboro at Colleton Prep's Warhawk Classic.
Beaufort Academy was at the free-throw line with a three-point lead with 8.8 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, but missed both free throws. A Thomas Heyward player grabbed the rebound and was fouled. The Rebels hit the first free throw to cut the deficit to two points and then intentionally missed the second shot. Thomas Heyward was able to get the rebound and put in the tying basket with time running out. The Rebels (2-1) then pulled away in overtime.

Roach had a game-high 28 points, while Owens and Tillotson finished with 20 apiece for the Rebels, who will finish up the tournament Saturday.
Nicky Macuch led Beaufort Academy (1-4) with 15 points. Kevin Williams added 11 points for the Eagles, who had three starters foul out before the overtime period.
Hilton Head Prep 70, St. Andrew's 43: The Dolphins broke open what was a close game at halftime, holding their Savannah hosts to 16 points in the second half.
Randy Young had 23 points and six rebounds to lead Hilton Head Prep (2-0), which led 33-27 at the half. Noah Sulek added 19 points, John Eck had 13 points, seven rebounds and six assists, and Brennan Mikell finished with 10 points.
Prep will host Laurence Manning at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
Laurence Manning 64, Hilton Head Christian 55: Ryan Barrett had 16 points and Zach Polk scored 15, but it wasn't enough to lift the Eagles in their season opener.
Vaughnte Anderson led Laurence Manning with 18 points and Mario Green had 14.
Chris Edwards added 12 points for Hilton Head Christian (0-1), which will play at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Thomas Heyward Academy.

Thomas Heyward Academy 42, Dorchester Academy 39: Senior Beth Malphrus scored 13 points to lead the Rebels into the championship game of the Colleton Prep tournament.
Sophomore Sydney Glassberg added 12 points and freshman Ellie Bryan had 11 for Thomas Heyward (2-1), which led 28-15 at the half and held on down the stretch.
"I was real proud of them," Rebels coach Roy Pryor said. "This team had beaten us by 20 in the first week of this tournament, so we played a lot better tonight."
The Rebels will face tournament host Colleton Prep in the final at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Walterboro.

Hilton Head Christian 63, Laurence Manning 50: Ziarre Doe had 18 points to lead the Eagles to a victory in their season opener.
Andy Anderson added 11 points, Macee Tamminen had 10, and Audrey Bensch and Francesca Guidobono scored eight apiece. Monica Bundy finished with four, and Bria McCarthy added two for the Eagles (1-0), who trailed 25-23 at halftime.
"We came out in the third quarter and knocked down some 3s," HHCA coach Kenny Conroy said. "They're one of the better teams in our league, and we came out and played very well for our first game."
Haley Hatfield led Laurence Manning (2-2) with 12 points and Emily McElveen scored 11.
Hilton Head Christian plays again Tuesday night at Thomas Heyward Academy.
St. Andrew's 33, Hilton Head Prep 19: The Dolphins dropped their first road game of the season.
Freshman Kendall Smith led Hilton Head Prep with nine points.
The Dolphins next host Laurence Manning at 1 p.m. Saturday.
