It was a clean sweep for Hilton Head Island High School's cross country teams at Wednesday's Region 8-AAA meet at Old Santee Canal Park in Moncks Corner.
The girls team had the top six finishers to finish with a perfect score of 15 and the team title, while the boys had six of the top finishers for a stellar 19 points and the team championship.
Carly McGlinn was the girls individual champion with a time of 19:56, while Cisco Ferre was the boys champion with a time of 16:38.
Also making the all-region team for the girls were Mallory Liggett (second, 20:12), Abby Gross (third, 20:26), Esther Anderson (fourth, 20:26), Rebeka Parent (fifth, 20:27) and Ciara McMahon (sixth, 20:27).
Joining Ferre on the boys all-region team were Eladio Wilkinson (third, 16:53), Colton Hennessey (fourth, 16:53), Sam Beattie (fifth, 16:56), Jason Busby (sixth, 16:59) and Ben Gilman (seventh, 17:09).
The Seahawks compete next in the Class 3-A Lower State meet Nov. 2 at Sandhills Research Park in Columbia.
Bluffton 4, Beaufort High 2: The Bobcats improved to 11-4, 8-1 in Region 8-AAAA as they wrapped up region play at Beaufort High (10-11, 6-4).
