A week after the death of Jasper County athletics director James Gardner, the Ridgeland-Hardeeville football team stayed focused and handled Academic Magnet 40-7 on the road to move to 3-0 in Region 6-AA.
Senior quarterback D.J. Myers continued his strong play of late, rushing for two touchdowns and hooking up through the air with Gavin Bush for another.
In the Jaguars' perfect region start, Myers has accounted for 10 touchdowns and just one turnover.
Marquis Griffin returned from injury to rush for a pair of touchdowns, including a 95-yard scamper. Shawn Wilson added a rushing touchdown, while Bush had a two-point conversion on the ground and one in the air.
Trey Robinson and Deandre Dopson had interceptions on defense. Robinson's was his fifth on the season.
Ridgeland-Hardeeville (4-2) hosts North Charleston at 7:30 p.m. Friday for Homecoming.
