Hilton Head Island High 2, Savannah Christian 0: The Seahawks swept past the top-ranked team in its class in Georgia, winning 25-19, 26-24.
Sierra Davis rang up 15 kills to lead the Seahawks. Setter Renee Homad had 35 assists.
Now 3-0, Hilton Head Island High opens region play Tuesday at James Island.
Hilton Head Christian 3, Beaufort High 0: Stevie DeSimone had 13 kills and five aces and Kerry Davis added 11 aces and five kills to lead Hilton Head Christian to a 25-12, 25-15, 25-9 victory.
Lily Strickland chipped in nine assists for Hilton Head Christian (5-3), which next travels to Ashley Hall on Friday.
SAILING
SCISAA State Invitational (Saturday): Beaufort Academy won the SCISAA State Invitational Championship on Saturday at the Beaufort Yacht and Sailing Club. Ashley Hall was the runner-up.
The Eagles' team consisted of Ashton Guest, Drummond Koppernaes, Megan Potter, Alexander Mazzeo and Michaela Russell and was coached by John Potter.
Hilton Head Prep won the A Division, while Beaufort Academy won the B Division.
