Hilton Head Prep looked like it had overcome its early stumbles and could hang with Laurence Manning, but the Swampcats piled on the points in the fourth quarter to win 39-16 on Friday.
The Dolphins (1-1) fell behind early, 13-0. But they fought back to take a 16-13 lead.
With almost eight minutes remaining, the game was still a one-score game before Laurence Manning put the game away.
"Our boys played hard and competed to the end," Hilton Head Prep coach Kevin Wald said. "I thought there were a lot of positives to build on that can carry over to our conference games."
Teron Daley had a good game running and defensively, Wald said.
Tyler Fox threw two touchdown passes for the Dolphins, while Collin White nailed a 42-yard field goal.
"We just need to continue to clean some things up as we get into conference play," Wald said.
