The Hilton Head Island High girls golf team sits seventh after the opening round of the Class 3-A Championships at the Hackler Course in Conway.
The Seahawks posted a 371 team total Monday, 44 shots behind overall leader Greenville's 327 score.
Pickens is second at 338, followed by Hartsville (354) Daniel (359) and Wren (364).
The second five consists of Airport (370), Hilton Head High, St. James (376) Waccamaw (376), Eastside (381) and McBee (381).
Nathalie Lezcano led Hilton Head High with an 82. Meredith Langs shot 87, Meredith Wipper carded a 96 and Lois Anderson posted a 106.
Hunter Walston's 110 didn't count toward the Seahawks' score.
The other high school teams in the Class 3-A competition include Chapan (394), North Myrtle Beach (399), Socastee (401), AC Flora (404) and Union County (427).
Teams return to the course today for the final 18 holes.
Hilton Head High 6, James Island 0: The Seahawks wrapped up the regular season on an upbeat, sweeping James Island to wrap up the Region 7-AAA crown.
Hilton Head High opens the playoffs with a 3:30 p.m. match Thursday at home against Gilbert.

Wade Hampton 3, Battery Creek 0: The Dolphins bowed out in the opening round of the Class 2-A playoffs.
The hosts prevailed 25-23, 25-16, 22-25, 25-18.
Teniellia Elak had 15 blocks and 13 kills to lead Battery Creek. Sara Anderson chipped in 10 kills, seven digs, five aces and a pair of blocks.
