Taco Bell Classic: Whale Branch's Andre Watson was named the runner of the meet Saturday at Spring Valley High School after placing second in the 200-meter dash and third in the 100. He also helped the Warriors take fifth in the 4x100 relay in a meet that drew powerful teams from around the Southeast.
Whale Branch's Devonte Alston took sixth in the long jump with a mark of 22 feet, 4 inches.
The Warriors finished eighth in the boys team standings.

Hilton Head High's Jack Manesiotis finished second in the 3,200 meters with a time of 9 minutes, 18.95 seconds.
Ridgeland's Alvin Brown placed in both of the throwing events, taking third in the discus and eighth in the shot put.
Beaufort High's Martin Washington was fifth in the high jump, and teammate Randy Thomas took sixth in the 110 hurdles.
Beaufort High's Madeline Aune had the best finish of any of the area's girls, taking third in the pole vault with a height of 11 feet, 6 inches. The Eagles' Emani Gray also had a top-10 finish in the discus, placing seventh, and Beaufort's 4x100 and 4x400 relays each placed in the top eight.
Beaufort High's Alexia Neal was 11th in the 400-meter hurdles, 13th in the 100-meter hurdles and 13th in the high jump.
The Beaufort County championship will be held Wednesday at Battery Creek.

Battery Creek: The Dolphins finished second in the girls team standings and third in the boys at Colleton County's Drug Free Classic.
Battery Creek won five girls events in the 11-team meet. They took first in the 4x100-meter relay, Gretchen Brown won the 100 hurdles, Shanice Pusha-Powell was first in the 400 hurdles, Quamecha Morrison won the high jump, and La'Schirrae Morrall was first in the triple jump.
Justice Oliver was a double winner for the Battery Creek boys, placing first in the high jump and triple jump.
The Dolphins host the Beaufort County championship on Wednesday.
Porter-Gaud 7, Hilton Head Prep 2 (Friday): Patrick Briody went 2 for 4 and John Sheehan was 1 for 2 as the Dolphins lost their fifth straight game.
Hilton Head Prep (7-5) hasn't won since star player Dylan Powell broke his hand. Coach Lew Kent doesn't think Powell will be able to make it back to the team.
The Dolphins host Hilton Head Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Bluffton 6, Colleton County 2 (Friday): The Bobcats continued their winning ways, helped by a pair of fifth-inning home runs. Morganne Parker, who was 2 for 3, hit a three-run inside-the-park homer, and Kim Kerby added a two-run shot later in the fifth.
Whitney Morrell went 2 for 3 with a double, and pitcher Courtney Smith struck out six in a three-hitter.
Bluffton (15-0) hosts a doubleheader Monday against Lake Marion. The first game starts at 5 p.m.
