Storm Grisham sees the progression his Hilton Head Island High School baseball team is making on the diamond.
"It's coming all together now," he said Wednesday night after the Seahawks thumped Corbin (Ky.) High, 14-0. "I think we'll be good from here on out."
Grisham, a first baseman for the Seahawks, isn't very concerned about personal accolades. All he wants is for his Hilton Head High team to make it to the coveted state championship.
"We all want a state title. That's the biggest goal that should be over everyone's head," he said. "Individual goals, I just want to hit the ball hard (and have) quality at-bats. If it falls it falls, if it doesn't, you know. Just hard shots is all I'm looking for."
The Seahawks are certainly in a position to accomplish that feat. Hilton Head High entered Thursday night with an 11-3 record and was in the mix for another Region 7-AAA title. Should the Seahawks reach that point, they'll likely have Grishman to thank in part for that. The junior set aside a few minutes this week to sit down with The Island Packet and The Beaufort Gazette and our two-minute drill.
