Hilton Head Island High 10-15, Battery Creek 0-7: Freshman Whitney Haley won both ends of a doubleheader for the Seahawks.
In the first game, she struck out five and surrendered no hits in a three-inning run-rule game. She started Game 2 and left with a big lead. Freshman Peyton Leitner struck out six to close out the game.
For Hilton Head High in Game 1, Macy Moore went 2 for 3 with two RBIs. In Game 2, eighth-grader Hunter Walston led the way, going 2 for 4 with a triple and three RBIs. Jackie Budidharma was 2 for 2, and Arianna Tolerton was 2 for 3 with a triple and two RBIs.
Macala Barnard and Sara Cathey had one hit each for Battery Creek in the opener. Laura Carter had a double among her two hits in the second game. Tori Hill and Shilyah Jones also had two hits in the 15-7 loss.
The Seahawks (7-2 overall, 5-2 Region 7-AAA) host Cane Bay at 6:30 p.m. Friday. The Dolphins (1-10, 0-7) host Bluffton at 6:45 tonight.
Fort Dorchester 7, Beaufort High 5: Jessica Bennett hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game at 4, but the Patriots scored three in the top of the seventh and the Eagles couldn't match them.
Jenny Mullins gave up six hits and struck out five. She was the victim of two bad innings, as Fort Dorchester also scored four in the fourth.
Michelle Brown had two hits and Molly Clark, Regina Bolden and Maddie Berry each added a hit for Beaufort (5-8, 1-3) which plays at 7 Friday night at Ashley Ridge.
JV: Beaufort 10, Ashley Ridge 6
Hilton Head High 5, Battery Creek 4: After trailing by as much as 4-1, the Seahawks tied the game in the bottom of the sixth on a bases-loaded walk to Kevin Hickey, then took the lead for good on a sacrifice fly to cener by Storm Grisham.
Cameron Stoltz pitched the sixth and seventh innings for Hilton Head High for the win, striking out two. Taylor Place went 2 for 3, while Grisham was 1 for 3 with three RBIs.
The Seahawks (7-3, 4-1) host Cane Bay at 7 p.m. Friday.
Shane Goude gave up five earned runs on eight hits over six innings for Battery Creek.
Shane Dixon was 2 for 3, Rusty Willman was 2 for 2 and Mark Hetrick was 1 for 3 with a triple and three RBIs for the Dolphins (4-10, 2-4), who host Bluffton at 6 p.m. Friday.
Beaufort High 8, Fort Dorchester 0: Sophomore Carson Gregory pitched six solid innings to lead the Eagles to the Region 8-AAAA win. Gregory (3-1) gave up four hits and struck out nine.
Mitchell Stewart led the offense, going 3 for 4 with two RBIs. Tony Nolan and David Tilton each had two hits for Beaufort High (8-3, 4-1), which plays Friday at Ashley Ridge with first place in the region on the line.
Whale Branch 14, Hardeeville 2: Dee Delaney struck out eight and allowed just one hit in four innings to earn the win for the Warriors.
At the plate, Jay Delaney had three hits, Ty Fields had two hits and Malik Fields doubled for Whale Branch (4-4), which plays a doubleheader at 4 p.m. Friday at Estill.
Beaufort High: At Legend Oaks in Summerville, Beaufort's Taylor Simonsen shot a 35 to tie for medlist honors, his third win in a row. Fort Dorchester's Grant Waggoner and Ashley Ridge's Conner O'Rourke also shot 35s.
Josh Fickes' 39, Tommy Earl's 40, Patrick Watson's 53 and Michael Babalis' 58 rounded out the scores for the Eagles.
Ashley Ridge won the meet with a team score of 147. Fort Dorchester was next at 155, followed by Beaufort (167) and Summerville (169).
TRACK AND FIELD
Big 5 Relays: Beaufort High School hosted the Big 5 Relays on Wednesday.
Winners for the Beaufort High boys included Davonte Green (110-meter hurdles), Kimbrell Forrest (1,600 meters), the 800 medley relay, the 800 relay, the Big Boy relay, the discus relay, the distance medley relay, the high jump relay, the long jump relay, the pole vault relay, the shot put relay, the 400 relay, the 1,600 relay and the 3,200 relay.
Battery Creek won the triple jump relay.
On the girls side, Beaufort High's wins included LaToya Smalls (100 hurldes), the distance medley relay, the high jump relay, the pole vault relay, the triple jump relay and the 3,200 relay.
Battery Creek's winners were Alexis Miller (1,600), the Big Girl relay team and the 400 relay team.
Beaufort High 4, Bluffton 2: Hunter Pylant came back from a set down to win 3-6, 7-6 (7-5) 10-8 to seal the win for the Eagles (6-4, 1-0).

SCISAA Open: At Sumter, Hilton Head Prep's Allie Burak won the girls division, claiming a 6-2, 6-1 over Porter-Gaud's M. Cooper in the final. The victory gives Burak SCISAA's player of the year award.
Hilton Head Prep's Ellie Czura and Katie Rankin also captured a SCISAA open crown, winning the doubles title with a 6-4, 6-1 over their Holly Hill opponents in the finals.
The Dolphins' Shannon O'Brien also competed in the tournament, making it to the quarterfinals in girls singles.
Beaufort High 6, Colleton County 0 (Tuesday): The Eagles won in a sweep.
