Elaine Natoli wasn't going to start her senior year in any other way.
The midfielder for the Hilton Head Island High School girls lacrosse team scored a career-best eight goals Wednesday night to propel the Seahawks to a 12-10 win over rival Bluffton in the season lidlifter.
"I didn't really expect to score so much tonight," she said afterward. "But I'm happy. (Midfielder) Jenna Sheeran assisted me twice tonight, so I give her props for giving me good passes."
Natoli -- one of three captains for the Seahawks -- credited former teammates like Sammi Burns for her increased offensive production.
Never miss a local story.
"I've learned a lot from Sammi Burnes , she taught me a lot this year," Natoli said. "I guess just helping out, teaching the young girls like how they taught me. They've really helped me out."
Natoli, who will head to College of Charleston next year, set aside a few minutes this week for The Beaufort Gazette and The Island Packet and our two-minute drill.
