Less than 24 hours had passed since Lauryn Bush sent the Hilton Head High girls basketball team into overtime against rival Bluffton with her buzzer-beating layup, in a game the Seahawks would go on to win several minutes later on Americal Jenkins' game-winner.
It's safe to say Bush was still riding high the next afternoon.
"We see how well we can play when we play together," she said.
The freshman is second on the team in both points per game (8.4) and steals (5) and is a big reason why the Seahawks sit atop Region 7-AAA with a perfect 5-0 record. Bush -- who played with the Seahawks' varsity team last season as an eighth-grader -- feels this year's group is a much more complete team than last year's 21-4 team.
Never miss a local story.
"I think we know how far we can go," she said.
The Island Packet and The Beaufort Gazette caught up with Bush to run her through our two-minute drill.
