Aaron Cotton began playing tennis when he was 6 and growing up in New Orleans, La.
The sport just made sense to him. Cotton and his family moved to Hilton Head Island his sophomore year, where he attends Hilton Head Prep.
Cotton helped the Dolphins win the past two SCISAA Class 3-A titles while keeping an eye on the future. He considered larger schools like University of Connecticut, Louisiana State and Wofford. But after a visit to Sewanee: The University of the South, he chose the private liberal arts college atop the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee.
"It's been a pretty good adventure," said Cotton, who finished runner-up at the SCISAA Open state singles tournament in April. "Tennis is a great sport. And I just love playing."
