Beaufort High 20, Battery Creek 3: The Eagles completed a five-inning rout of their cross-town rivals that was continued from last week. Several hitters had big games for Beaufort High -- Mark Jones was 3 for 3 with three doubles, four runs and two RBIs; Kyle Dawson was 3 for 4 with three doubles, four RBIs and two runs; David Tilton was 2 for 2 with a double and two runs; Beau Brown was 2 for 2 with a home run and three RBIs; Tony Nolan was 2 for 5 with two doubles and Carson Gregory was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs.
Starting pitcher David Tilton earned the win, allowing two hits and striking out two in one inning before the game was suspended because of rain. Macauley Smith worked three scoreless innings in relief, and Austin Willis-Green pitched a perfect inning.
The Eagles (7-1) open Region 8-AAAA at home against Colleton County at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Northwood Academy 11, Hilton Head Christian 4: The Eagles dropped their region opener in a rematch of last year's SCISAA Class 3-A state championship series.
Luke Higgs went 2 for 4, Lincoln Fuller was 2 for 3 with an RBI, Kevin Campbell was 1 for 3 with two runs, and Reese Dolyniuk was 1 for 3 with an RBI for Hilton Head Christian.
Starter Andrew Halley pitched well in a losing effort, Eagles coach Danny Morgan said.
The Eagles (2-4, 0-1 SCISAA Region 3-AAA) take on former coach Trevor Creeden and his new team, Delaware County (Pa.) Christian in a home game Tuesday.
Whale Branch 23, Estill 1: Daniel Makowski struck out 12 to earn the win, and third baseman Tyshawn Eugene had three hits and three RBIs to lead the Warriors to a blowout win in their home opener.
Whale Branch (3-1, 3-0 Region 5-A) hosts Ridgeland at 6 p.m. Friday.
Bamberg-Ehrhardt 13, Hardeeville 0: The Hurricanes dropped to 0-3 overall and 0-3 in Region 5-A. Hardeeville travels to Branchville for another region game Friday.

James Island Christian 3, Beaufort Academy 2 (PK): After playing to a 2-2 tie through regulation and overtime, James Island Christian won a penalty kick shootout 4-1 to claim the road victory.
Gibson Achurch and Conner Akers scored for Beaufort Academy, and Matt Bass made five saves.
The Eagles (1-2 overall, 0-1 SCISAA Region 2-AA) travel to First Baptist for a region game at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Hilton Head High 7, Battery Creek 0: The Seahawks breezed past their Region 7-AAA foe to improve to 2-0 in league play.
Steven Rendon and Manuel Medina scored two goal each. Will McCarty, Chris MacMurray and Cesar Bazan added one apiece. Mike Ritterbeck made two saves for the shutout.
Manuel Mejia made 15 saves for the Dolphins (2-4, 0-1 Region 7-AAA), who host Cane Bay at 7 p.m. Friday.
The Seahawks (4-3-1, 2-0) travel to Berkeley on Thursday.
Bluffton 6, Berkeley 0: Harris Reeves, Osmar Moreno and Missael Campa each scored two goals, and Chris Sullivan made three saves to record the shutout, as the Bobcats earned their first Region 7-AAA win.
Bluffton (1-2, 1-1) plays at Beaufort High at 7 p.m. today.
Wade Hampton 1, Hardeeville 0 (PK): The penalty kick shootout couldn't break a scoreless tie, but the Red Devils won on the third sudden-death kick to drop the Hurricanes in their season opener.
Hardeeville (0-1) hosts Branchville in a Region 5-A game Friday.

Hilton Head High 14, Academic Magnet 3: Nick Roberts and Hayden Lovette scored four goals apiece, and Nick Bautista, Charlie Jackson and Eric Rzeczycki each had two goals as the Seahawks stayed undefeated.
Roberts added three assists, and Bautista and Jackson each had one assist. Goalie Clayton Reed made 11 saves for Hilton Head High (8-0), which plays at Bluffton at 8 p.m. Friday.
