Beaufort boys and girls track teams were the highest finishers Saturday among Lowcountry schools at the Sandlapper Classic on Saturday at West Ashley High School.
The Eagle girls were third of 21 teams with 61 points, while the boys were fifth of 18 teams with 61.3 points. Beaufort’s Reggie Jones won the pole vault and was named top overall male athlete in the meet.
Hilton Head’s Ryan Moosebrugger won the 1,600, and Seahawk boys relay teams won the 4x800 and distance medley. As a team, HH finished seventh. May River finished sixth.

On the girls’ side, Beaufort’s Kyasha Brown won the 100 meter hurdles. Cathryn Roberts won the pole vault, and the 4x1600 relay team finished first to help May River to a seventh-place finish.
Hilton Head won the 4x800 relay and distance medley. The Seahawks finished 10th as a team.
May River 7, James Island 5
Jon Boan had two goals and two assists, and CJ Wajszcuk scored twice in May River’s victory.
Luke Boan and Hudson Kramer each added a goal and assist, and Braydon Sokolowski scored.
May River 8, Midland Valley 0
Joel Fleek scored three goals and had an assist for the Sharks.
Mike Chappelear, scored twice, and Alan Gonzalez, Chris Pineda and Nick Lewis each scored once.
