The champ is back.
Graeme McDowell will defend his title at the 2014 RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing. He joins seven other past champions making early commitments to the 46th annual event at the Harbour Town Golf Links.
The other former RBC Heritage champions slated to compete are two-time champions Stewart Cink and Boo Weekley, plus Carl Pettersson, Brandt Snedeker, Jim Furyk, Justin Leonard and Glen Day.
South Carolina's only regular PGA Tour takes place April 14-20 on Hilton Head Island.
Never miss a local story.
McDowell earned his second PGA Tour win at last year's RBC Heritage, defeating Webb Simpson in a sudden-death playoff. He also won two events on the European Tour in 2013, running his career total of European wins to eight. The Northern Ireland native made headlines in the United States in 2010 after winning the U.S Open Championship.
Pettersson's 2012 victory at the RBC Heritage was his fifth on the PGA Tour. The win tied him with Jesper Parnevik for most wins on the PGA Tour by a Swedish player. Carl moved to Greensboro, N.C. with his family in high school and later attended N.C. State. He now lives in Raleigh and is a U.S. citizen.
After winning the 2011 Heritage, Snedeker won twice in 2012, first at the Farmers Insurance Open and then at The Tour Championship. He also won twice in 2013, first at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and then at the RBC Canadian Open.
After Furyk earned the Heritage trophy in 2010, he continued his winning streak at The Tour Championship and was ultimately named that year's FedExCup Champion.
Weekley enjoyed his first and second PGA Tour wins during back-to-back appearances at the Harbour Town Golf Links. He captured his third victory and his third plaid jacket at the 2013 Crown Plaza Invitational at Colonial.
Cink is a former British Open Champion who captured the Heritage in 2000 and again in 2004. The Georgia Tech alum has earned six wins on the PGA Tour.
Leonard has carded a dozen wins on the PGA Tour including his 2002 victory at Harbour Town.
Day's career on the PGA Tour began in 1994. He defeated Payne Stewart and Jeff Sluman in a play off to win at Harbour Town in 1999.
