Melany Chong outlasted fellow IJGA student Angela Aung in a playoff to win the International Junior Golf Tour's spring opener last weekend at Oldfield Golf Club.
Chong began the final day with a two-stroke lead, but struggles on the front nine allowed Aung's even-par 72 to draw even and force extra holes. Chong finally secured the victory with a par at Oldfield’s par-3 13th hole.
Hilton Head Island’s Chase Phillips claimed a three-shot win in the Boys 14-and-under division, his fourth victory in five IJGT starts since September.
South Korea's Tae Young Kang won the boys' upper division in a four-shot romp, recording the low round each day.
