Hilton Head Christian Academy and Junior Players Golf Academy student Bryson Nimmer battled cold and windy conditions to win the Boys 15-18 Division of the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour's Low Country Junior Shootout this past weekend at Bluffton's Old South Golf Links.
Nimmer, a Bluffton resident and recent Clemson commitment, finished strong with three birdies on the back nine on the final day and finished at 4-under 140. Nimmer posted seven birdies, 23 pars and a field-best performance on par-3 holes with a 2.8 scoring average.
Hilton Head Island High School's Andrew Orischak finished second, a stroke back. Orischak tallied an eagle, four birdies and 28 pars.
Bluffton's Sophie Guo topped JPGA's Dylaney Day by five strokes in the Girls 11-14 Division.

Nigeria's Anita Uwadia, also a student of the JPGA, earned her second straight victory in the Girls 15-18 Division. She finished strong on day two scoring three birdies on the back nine holes.
Hilton Head Island's Clemen Rodriguez was second three strokes off the lead.
Patten Williams earned his second straight win in the Boys 11-14 Division, while Bluffton's Drew Weary tied for second, seven shots off the pace.
BLUFFTON'S BLALOCK EARNS PGA CERTIFICATION
Bluffton's Donald Blalock is one of 19 PGA Professionals who recently completed the requirements to achieve certification through the advanced PGA Certified Professional Program 2.0.
CPP 2.0 is the PGA's enhanced, all-digital training and education curriculum and is geared to give PGA members a state-of-the-art skillset to grow the game of golf.
Blalock, of Hilton Head Island's Long Cove Club, was certified in instruction.
PALMETTO HALL TO HOST IJGT EVENT
The International Junior Golf Tour will host the Island Open on Saturday and Sunday at Palmetto Hall Plantation's Arthur Hills Course on Hilton Head Island.
The two-day, 36-hole event will feature some of the top junior golfers (ages 9-19) from the Southeast. The tournament includes three divisions: Boys 15-19, Boys Under-14 and Girls Under-19.
The event is nationally ranked by the American Junior Golf Association, Golfweek and Junior Golf Scoreboard.
