Trailing by two strokes after the first round, Bluffton's Bryson Nimmer responded on Day 2 by shooting a 69, fueled by a 34 on the back nine, to finish with a two-day total of 2-under 142 to win the Boys 15-18 Division of the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour's Charleston Junior Open this past weekend at Patriots Points Links in Mount Pleasant.
Hilton Head Island's Evan White had a two-day score of 7-over 151 to finish second in the Boys 11-14 Division, while Bluffton's Kylie Nizolek shot a two-day score of 11-over 155 to win the Girls 15-18 Division.
FICKES SPLITS MATCHES AT SCGA EVENT
SCGA Junior Champion Josh Fickes of Beaufort High School had the highlight of the weekend in the 38th annual SCGA Georgia-South Carolina Junior Team Matches over the weekend at Forest Lake Club in Columbia.

Fickes defeated Georgia's Tye Waller 7 and 6 in the second round of South Carolina's 11 1/2-4 1/2 loss. Fickes fell 5 and 3 to Georgia's Marcus Byrd in his first-round match.
Georgia leads the series 23-13-2.
BURKE WINS IJGT EVENT AT PALMETTO HALL
New York's Kyle Burke shot a 77-74--151 to win the Boys 15-19 Division of the International Junior Golf Tour Summer Series event last week at Palmetto Hall Plantation.
In the Boys Under 14 Division, Italy's Enrico Ferrero posted back-to-back rounds of 82 to beat Robbie Morway of Daufuskie Island by three strokes.
Canadian Melany Chong won the Girls Under 19 Division with rounds of 87 and 86.
HJGT EVENT COMING TO GOLDEN BEAR
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour will hold the Golden Bear Junior Challenge on Sept. 7 and 8 at Golden Bear Golf Club at Indigo Run. The deadline to enter is Aug. 28.
