MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
COLUMBIA -- Senior Anthony Vecchio and sophomore Nic O'Neill notched top-five finishes to lead the University of South Carolina Beaufort men's cross country team to a third-place showing at the CIU Invitational hosted by Columbia International University on Saturday.
Vecchio placed second in the 5K race with a time of 16:19, nine seconds behind Armstrong Atlantic's Henning Schein, while O'Neill was fifth in 16:45.

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. -- The University of South Carolina Beaufort women's soccer team turned a frustrating game into a thrilling victory Saturday, scoring twice in the final five minutes to claim a 3-2 win at Brewton-Parker.
Freshman Hayley Pina scored the equalizer with about five minutes left and junior Alexandria Radue added her first goal as a Sand Shark for the game-winner less than three minutes later.
The Sand Sharks (4-4) opened the scoring in the first half when freshman Karen Pimentel took a cross from sophomore Madalyn Adams and slotted it behind the goalkeeper, but the Barons converted on a corner kick to forge a 1-1 tie at halftime.
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- With three freshmen in the lineup making their collegiate debut, the University of South Carolina Beaufort women's golf team posted a team score of 331 on Saturday and is in sixth place after the opening round of the Lady Falcon Invitational hosted by Daytona State College.
Emily Turner led the Sand Sharks with a 77 and is tied for eighth, while fellow freshman Franzi Knoetsch is tied for 17th after an 80. Samantha O'Donnell (86) is tied for 31st, followed by Moa Kristenson (88) in 38th and Lina Sekerkova (90) in a tie for 39th.
