Seven USC Beaufort student-athletes were named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes in their respective sports for the spring season.
Seniors Jon Andrews (baseball) and Erik Armstrong (baseball) and juniors Chelsey Blasingame (softball), Maddie Byrd (softball), Shane Goldsmith (men's golf), Hilton Head Island's Samantha O'Donnell (women's golf) and Meleah Powers (women's track & field) earned the award, which requires students to maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved at least junior academic status.
Powers previously earned the honor for women's cross country in the fall, giving USCB eight NAIA Scholar-Athletes for the 2013-14 school year, matching last year's total for the most in the program's history.
USCB has had 32 student-athletes earn the award over the past five years.
