CHARLESTON -- The University of South Carolina Beaufort women's golf team wrapped up a rainy week at Rivertowne Country Club with a team score of 338 on Tuesday, finishing 13th in the CSU Wendy's Invitational.
The Sand Sharks, who were the only non-NCAA Division I team in the event, finished the 54-hole event with a team score of 1003 and finished one shot behind The Citadel. College of Charleston (877) won the team title by 13 shots over Coastal Carolina.
Junior Samantha O'Donnell (80-80-81--241) led the Sand Sharks in a tie for 44th, followed by junior Tori DeGroodt (87-78-83--248) in 57th and senior Kendra Collins (83-81-86--250) in a tie for 58th. Junior Lindsey Mapes (91-86-88--265) finished 69th and sophomore Hayley Miller (90-89-92--271) was 70th.
The Sand Sharks are back in action Oct. 21-22 at the SCAD Fall Invitational at Wilmington Island Club in Savannah.
