USC Beaufort sophomore Jessica Tooley has been honored as The Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Week for women's soccer in voting by the league's sports information directors.
Tooley is the first USCB player to earn the Offensive Player of the Week award and only the second Sand Shark soccer player to earn a weekly honor. Goalkeeper Chelsie Mummert was named the Defensive Player of the Week last season.
The award comes on the heels of a great week for Tooley, who scored two goals and added two assists in USCB's two games. The sophomore from Tega Cay scored her first two goals of the season and assisted on another in a 4-3 win over NCAA Division II Erskine College on Tuesday, and she assisted on USCB's only goal in a 7-1 loss to NCAA Division I Alabama State on Sunday.
Tooley, who led the Sand Sharks with 10 points last season, has two goals and a team-high four assists on the season.
The Sand Sharks (3-4-1) are back in action this weekend, traveling to Florida Memorial on Friday and St. Thomas on Sunday for their first two Sun Conference contests.
