Hilton Head stayed on the winning path Sunday with a 14-2 victory over Virginia at the Dixie Boys World Series in Bossier City, La.
Hilton Head jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the opening inning, with the key blow coming on Cameron Bent's grand slam home run.
Bent finished 2 for 4 with a walk and three runs scored as Hilton Head won its second in a row.
"As you advance in the tournament, the teams get better," Hilton Head manager Bill Keen said, "and to jump out 8-0 kind of dampened (Virginia's) spirits."
Koty Brigham was the winning pitcher after 3 2-3 innings of work. He allowed one earned run and struck out five.
Jacob Hussong fanned two in 1 1-3 innings of relief.
Dargan Cherry was 1 for 1 with three walks and three runs scored for Hilton Head.
Tournament play continues Monday for Hilton Head with a 1 p.m. game against either Florida or defending champion Mississippi.
