COLUMBIA -- Joey Pankake's two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh sparked a six-run inning as 12th-ranked South Carolina rallied for a 9-3 win over Wofford on Wednesday night at Carolina Stadium.
Chase Vergason went 3 for 5 with a RBI and a run scored for the Gamecocks (34-14). Max Schrock had two hits, including a solo home run. Grayson Greiner and Sean Sullivan also had two hits apiece.
Senior left-hander Adam Westmoreland (6-1) earned the win with 1 2-3 scoreless innings of relief. Wofford reliever Will Stillman (2-2) got the loss, allowing two runs on three hits in one inning.
Alec Paradowski went 3 for 4 and Seth Neely tallied two hits to lead the Terriers (20-21) at the plate.
South Carolina starter Curt Britt worked three innings and allowed two runs on four hits. Wofford starter Matthew Milburn went four innings and allowed a run on two hits.
South Carolina's LB Dantzler had to leave the game after he tripped while running the bases in the sixth inning, injuring his left shoulder.
South Carolina is back in action at 7 p.m. Friday, beginning a three-game series with Georgia at Carolina Stadium.
