The Community Foundation is hosting author Robert Lupton at 4:30 p.m. May 2 at Congregation Beth Yam, 4501 Meeting St., Hilton Head Island. Lupton, an urban activist in Atlanta, wrote "Toxic Charity," which debates the effectiveness of charity work. Attendance is free. Reservations are required.
