I concur fully with the outrage you expressed in a recent editorial over the clear-cutting of some 6,000 trees along U.S. 278.
It's left an eyesore, and the $71,500 settlement, indeed, amounts to "chump change in the development of a tract this large," over 100 acres.
What I wonder is why you appear reluctant to print the name of the developer who authorized this assault? This sham warrants an equal measure of shame.
