Regarding the Nov. 8 letter advising Republicans to not give up ground to Obama and the Democrats, the author may want to reflect on the overreaching of the current administration. This election was not about extreme right-wing causes. It was about mustering enough independent voters to stop the draconian policies of far-left Democrats.
The biggest concern of reasonable independents and moderate Republicans is the radical tea party Republicans who are able to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Fanatical politicians have proven they can lose elections before, and they have kept too many reasonable conservatives from being elected this year.
Think about what is best for America, not how to feather your nest. If we Republicans hope to elect our next president, we need to win 270 electoral votes. Many must come from moderate states, so we must lose our uncompromising attitude and incendiary language that assures defeat in national elections.
