OK. I guess I'm confused. Back in August, the Jasper County School District issued a statement that its Palmetto Assessment of State Standards test results were good. District leaders said the district was "as successful, or more so, (than) the state" because the state, like the district, declined in many of the test's categories.
Now I read that in the latest federal accountability report, the state received a B grade (85.4 points) while Jasper County once again received an F grade (35.5 points). A quick look at the supporting data indicates that the failing grade is primarily caused by the PASS test performance. So why were we so happy back in August?
