For those of you who prefer to evaluate the mess in Ferguson, Mo., on factual data rather than emotion, consider the following: The Al Sharptons of the world rabble-rouse by suggesting that the police are out to get young black males and frequently kill them, even when they are unarmed. They call it a "police war on blacks." This was recently refuted on Fox News and other news outlets. Haters have only emotion on which to rely.
Based upon FBI statistics from 2012, there were 12 million arrests in the U.S., or 34,000 a day. Of that number, 99.9 percent of those arrested were not shot. There were 400 fatal shootings in those arrests. Certainly some of those shootings had to be justified.
Having had a black business partner in New York, I know there is at least subtle discrimination. On rainy days, taxicabs would stop for me but not for my black partner.
But let's get all the facts before we convict Officer Darren Wilson.
