I was under the assumption that the trash collection centers in northern Beaufort County were called convenience centers. Explain to me, please, how it is that Beaufort County leaders think the change in hours is convenient?
What of the hundreds of people who go to work before 9 a.m.? Are they to carry garbage in their cars all day so that it can be dumped on their way home? Hmm. Places of employment will love that smell, as well as the car owners themselves.
Wouldn't it be fair and possible to have at least one morning a week opened at 7 a.m. for the "convenience" of the public?
It seems that the decision-makers either don't work or don't take out their own trash. It would be an excellent idea for them to spend an entire day at one of the centers to see what actually goes on, or does that mean getting their hands dirty?
We are very fortunate to have wonderful employees who keep the Lady's Island center in tiptop shape.
