Since when did pulling up behind someone who isn't going as fast as you'd like and flashing your high beams become a rule of the road? That's what one reader recently wrote was acceptable behavior on U.S. 278.
It's called road rage and will only irritate or enrage the person in front of you. People have been shot or assaulted as a result of such aggressive behavior. It will only make people like me slow down to irritate you further. It's also a violation of the law in most states. So is flashing our lights to warn other motorists of a patrol car up ahead. The officer is there to slow down aggressive drivers.
The letter writer obviously never took any driving lessons from a professional who really knows the rules of the road.
