I read the article about the change of days and hours for the recycling centers in Beaufort County. I am sure most people will not mind the change in the number of days open. However, opening at 9 a.m. and staying open to 7 p.m. makes no sense. Most people go to work and need to drop off their trash on the way there -- 9 a.m. is too late for them. I cannot imagine them keeping the trash in their cars and trucks all day and dropping it off on their way home. Things would reek by then.
Ideally, the centers would be open on some days before work, say 7 a.m. on Saturdays and Mondays, and close at 5 p.m. on those days. This way, they would be open the same number of hours every week, but be a lot more convenient to the public. And since it was mentioned that most people drop their trash off in the morning, this sounds like a good solution.
