We hear statements from the administration and elsewhere concerning man-made (anthropogenic) climate change. Previous to these last two winters, it was called global warming. President Barack Obama said hundreds of scientists agreed while John Kerry spoke of severe consequences of climate change. He told us that 97 percent of the world's scientists agree. We all agree that the scientists, rather than the laymen, have the answer to whether or not this is a problem or something the left has dreamed up to destroy the free enterprise system, which has been beneficial to this country and its people.
Nobody can deny there has been climate change. After all, Greenland was once green.
If we all agree that the scientists have the answers, then check out petitionproject.org. You'll see that 31,487 American scientists, 9,029 with doctoral degrees, signed the petition. It states that "there is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will in the foreseeable future cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disrupt the Earth's climate." It also states that increased atmospheric carbon dioxide may be beneficial to plants and animals.
