Your lead article on July 13 and poignant editorial on July 17 attest to your interest and concern over the dangerous driving conditions along U.S. 278. Many readers obviously concur with much of what you have written.
I have only one change to suggest. In the July 13 article, Beaufort County traffic engineer Colin Kinton is quoted as saying, "The number of wrecks seems high on the road despite the addition of two lanes in a widening project completed in November."
Might it be more accurate to say that it's due to the addition of two lanes -- not despite the addition?
