For decades, federal government and elected leaders have ignored the overall intent of our Constitution. The focus has been more toward social issues to the detriment of fiscal issues, leaving us with national debt in the trillions (and growing).
Yes, we as a society need to help those who can't help themselves. But entitlements to those who can help themselves will financially implode America.
We need to enforce our laws and not construe them to garner votes. The oath or affirmation of elected office has become perfunctory.
There is a groundswell for a "New Dawn of America" to get back to the original intent of the Constitution of the United States of America.
Before Constitution Day on Sept. 17, pick up a copy and peruse it. And vote on Nov. 4.
