I was perusing the movie reviews in Thursday's newspaper and was appalled to see that "America," by Dinesh De'Souza, was given one star. "Dawn Of the Planet of the Apes" got three stars?
Walking out of the movie theater, a couple remarked to me, "Did you notice that there was no people in attendance under the age of 50?"
As long as more people can tell you who are the finalists on "American Idol" or "The Bachelorette" than the amount of interest we are paying on our national debt, we will continue to have a dysfunctional government.
President Obama was re-elected in November 2012 by 25 percent of eligible voters. Fifty percent of those eligible voted; Fifty percent of those voters, voted for him. Therefore, 75 percent of eligible voters did not vote for him.
Until a majority of Americans begin to take back our government, we will continue to suffer the consequences.
