The rich, the rich, the rich. Who are they? Well for one thing, these people are the ones who create jobs. These are the people who create prosperity.
I grew up in Detroit in the '40s and '50s when the city was so rich the only city comparable was New York City. In fact, our museum was second only to the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Why am I bringing this up? Because once Detroiters began to elect Democratic mayors everything went downhill. Welfare rolls swelled. Crime rates rose. People left the city in droves. Now look at America's great cities, i.e. Chicago, Detroit and soon to be New York City with their new mayor. Scary huh? I'm hearing rumors that people are leaving New York in droves. Can this be? Sure can.
Our liberal politicians keep fostering the myth that the rich are to blame for all of our ills in America. People, look around you. Where is there more prosperity? In Europe? I don't think so. Probably China, and there lies the rub. As we decline and create a welfare state, China, the copycat, is raising its citizens' standards and turning the East into the America that once was.
My parents were immigrants and loved this country beyond belief and so do I. I weep and mourn for what I read and see these days.
God bless America. She needs it.
