Are you ready to make a change in our voting laws? June 10 is the primary, and most folks don't know who is running or why we are having a primary. If people don't know what they are voting on or even who they are voting for, should they cast a ballot that is a random guess?
It does our government no good to have people vote who don't actually know for what they are voting. Maybe each citizen should be tested on their knowledge of the candidates and what they stand for before they are allowed to vote. Not everyone should be allowed to vote nor allowed to vote just for the sake of voting. The election loses quality once that happens.
I think elections should be in the hands of a few people who are educated on the topics and represent a diverse group of interests from the poor to the rich. It's only fair and makes the most sense.
I'll be voting on June 10 -- but I normally buck the trends.
Never miss a local story.
