Earlier this month, Hilton Head audiences were treated to wonderful piano music as the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra once again presented the Hilton Head International Piano Competition.
In its 19th year, the competition brought 19 young artists from nine countries to perform for both the public and an international panel of judges. Performances took place at the Seahawk Cultural Center for the first time and at the First Presbyterian Church.
The opportunity to experience such performances is rare. We were very fortunate to be able to see and hear these rising stars as they make their way in the performance world. We should all be very grateful to the symphony and to the International Piano Competition for staging such an enriching and culturally significant event for our enjoyment. Thanks also to the businesses and individuals who supported this competition.
Never miss a local story.
