While I was driving on U.S. 278 the other day, traffic began slowing down. Then, bang -- my car was hit from behind by a truck. I got out of my car. The driver of the truck finally got out and said he was sorry.
When I asked him to call the police, he remarked that we had to get off the road. When I told him I would pull over onto the grass, he said I should go over to a road that would have been impossible to get to as the two lanes to the right of me were moving too fast. I eventually pulled into the Walgreens parking lot and motioned for him to follow me. Instead, he drove away.
The police department considers it a hit and run. Only a low life would take off and not stay to accept any responsibility for a crash. I gave the best description of the truck and the person I could and hope he will be caught for leaving the scene of an accident.
Just what is wrong with people?
Never miss a local story.
Thank you to all of the Walgreens employees who helped me.
