I read in the newspaper how members of Bluffton Town Council went, in person, to check the noise levels at a much-talked-about Calhoun Street eatery and bar -- at 6 p.m.
Why not 10 a.m. or 2 p.m.? People are not complaining about the noise level at 6 p.m.
Now, be advised that I am not taking a stand on this issue because I have very good friends on both sides -- both residents on Calhoun Street and in ownership of the said eatery.
Leaders with the Town of Bluffton created this mess, and it's up to them to correct it. People are allowed to live in their homes in peace. They're also allowed to earn a legitimate living.
Never miss a local story.
Do I have an answer to the problem? Certainly not. This is a very tough situation that Town Council has created.
Perhaps it is up to the residents of Bluffton to start with the replacement of those who created the situation in the first place and elect new representatives who have a more logical-thinking process. Peace must be made. No individuals actually hate one another; everyone just wants their rights to be respected.
Someone out there smarter than me, please come up with a working solution. We need it desperately.
