Reading the article about Rep. Andy Patrick's financial problems was certainly news.
However, the newspaper should be ashamed to mention that his four children are on food stamps. I am sure the writer did not intend to be malicious towards the children. However, Patrick's children now have to face classmates and friends who will know they are on food stamps and living in a borrowed house.
The newspaper has completely humiliated them, and that is terrible. What he did is what he did. His children are innocent and have no control over that. The newspaper should issue an apology to them, but I doubt it will. Salacious sells, right?
