Grandparents taught important life lessons

My maternal grandfather came from Italy, and he was a self-taught man in the construction and masonry business. He paid cash for new construction equipment. My grandmother was his right-hand man. She took all business requests in her office, which was in the kitchen. Grandmother Esther would ride right along with my grandfather to view the job sites. She brewed fresh coffee as the workers arrived each morning. My grandparents never missed a day of work.
