The Jasper County School District appreciates all of its volunteers. When an individual takes time to help students within the classroom, whether it is through reading, tutoring or assisting teachers, each second of their time is appreciated.
Our volunteers hail from many areas including Sun City, Hilton Head, Callawassie Island, Hardeeville and Ridgeland. Volunteers give their time to travel to the schools, helping children succeed in the classroom. We thank them all.
Those interested in volunteering must follow guidelines to protect the volunteers, students and staff. The district's top priority is the safety of students, staff, visitors and volunteers.
Interested volunteers must complete a simple application on the district's website, www.jcsd.net. From the homepage, click on "departments." The application is under "Public Information Documents." Fill out the application, and then email it back, fax it to 843- 717-1119 or mail it to Jasper County School District, P.O. Box 848, Ridgeland, SC 29936, ATTN: Lashanda Grant.
Processing applications takes time. We receive a high volume of volunteer requests. Every effort is made to ensure the review process and background checks are done in a timely manner. Another follow-up by district staff ensures volunteers are notified of their eligibility. If you have placed an application and have not heard from us within a few weeks, contact Lashanda Grant at 843- 717-1133.
Because of the help from volunteers and business partners, student achievement is increasing. We thank everyone who supports the district and its mission.
