No doubt President Obama has had his share of problems and setbacks, some of them self-inflicted and some inflicted by those determined to make him fail irrespective of the damage to our country. To be critical of his mistakes is fair game in a democracy. I have voted for him twice, and I too am critical of his performance. Nevertheless, I cannot help being amused by letter writers who talk about his questionable qualifications for the presidency. I guess having a law degree from a premier institution, being a state legislator, and a U.S. senator are not relevant. The same folks who write these letters usually worship President Reagan, whose experience was B-grade movies. Is it any wonder that one smells a bit of racism in such comments.
