The Town of Hilton Head's Parks and Recreation Committee has approved plans for a new park at Shelter Cove. Good. It is always a good idea to attract families here for vacation, and a new park is a great addition.
However, there is very little to do on the island that doesn't cost a lot of money. I believe the new dock should be both wide and long. How amazing would it be if the dock went all the way across the waterway and connected to the bike paths on Marshland Road?
Let's give the families some memories of crabbing and fishing. It would add greatly to the bicycle community and give everyone something to do together that doesn't cost a lot of money. Just a thought. I would much rather have some fishing and crabbing places than a big oak tree fort.
