I was having lunch with friends last week and the subject of Obamacare came up. One participant said, "The Obama administration is without question the most corrupt, bungling, and inept administration in the history of the nation, and the roll out of Obamacare is just one more example of their inability to do anything right. The debt continues to soar out of control; we have confused and offended our allies and emboldened our enemies. Unemployment is still high, and the economy has not improved much in the past five years."
Most heads nodded yes in agreement. To our surprise, one of the most politically liberal of the group countered with, "You're right on the first part; the crony capitalism that both parties engage in is wasting billions of dollars in the green energy sector, and it's disgraceful. It is tainting and discrediting what should be a noble and necessary national priority, but you're wrong on the last two counts."
We all smiled knowingly and thought, "Here it comes again, the long diatribe defending and justifying the actions of the Obama administration." What he said brought silence to the table: "I have been thinking it over, and I have come to the conclusion that their actions are neither bungling, nor inept. They are all well thought out, well planned, and well executed, and are accomplishing just exactly what they set out to do from the beginning."
Food for thought.
