Republicans in South Carolina, from Congress on down, must all be thrilled to death with the government shutdown. In this completely red state, there should be dancing in the streets.
There seem to be a few civilian employees at Parris Island who are weeping and wailing over the shutdown, but can't everyone see all the good that is coming from this?
You all regularly vote for Republicans, don't you? They are doing what you want, aren't they? While millions are trying to sign up for the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) in order to reduce their suffering and dying from lack of health insurance, the Republicans are holding everyone in the country hostage unless Obamacare is repealed.
They say it's about "principles." You poor deluded people. If you believe this is a winning strategy, you probably all believe in the tooth fairy.
Republicans, be proud. Your "negotiation" tactics are sure to get results with, "it's my way or the highway." Ask yourself, what has a Republican done for you (not Wall Street) lately?
If we are lucky, the Republicans can keep the fun going with a refusal to raise the debt ceiling later this month, resulting in devastating consequences for the U.S. and the world. Remember, it's "principles," stupid.
